Fire Prevention & Education

The Apple Valley Fire Department is committed to making our city as fire safe as it is beautiful. We present comprehensive prevention programs consistently throughout the year to Apple Valley schools, daycare facilities, local businesses, civic groups, and senior living communities. Whether speaking to citizens at their place or in one of our fire stations, we know that fire safety education is the best tool we have to prevent fires.

The Apple Valley Fire Department also works with commercial business owners to ensure that their buildings meet all state and local fire codes. The fire marshal and fire inspector make regularly scheduled physical inspections of all new construction and remodeling projects in our commercial community. Firefighters tour buildings as part of their annual training schedule to maintain their readiness in the event that a response is needed.

Prevention is strengthened with partnerships that include educating the students in Independent School District 196; demonstrating fire suppression systems with Uponor, a local fire sprinkler manufacturer; performing fire extinguisher training at several businesses; and by working closely with state legislators and elected city officials to facilitate stability of our fire safety needs.
